Snowcoach Tours & Transport Vising Alaska only in the winter? No snowmachine? Spouse riding but you're not? Too windy? We have the answer to these and other common winter problems! Denali Highway Cabins & Paxson Alpine Tours is the proud owner of one of the few Snowcoaches in Alaska (we know of no others). This roomy, enclosed and heated sleigh can transport up to four persons anywhere our big working snowmobile - a quiet fourstroke Arctic Cat Bearcat - can travel. Turn on the heater, turn off its light, snuggle into warm blankets we provide and enjoy the view as you are ferried to your own exclusive snow camp, where you can ski, snowshoe, or enjoy the fantastic winter photography. Ride includes thermos of hot chocolate or hot apple cider. We'll drive you back to your cabin, or you can return by snowshoe (most leisurely), by cross-country ski (faster), or by snowbike (fastest). There is no easier way to access the remote winter landscape of the Alaska Range. Fare is $1.25/mile for one person; 25 cents per person per mile for additional riders. Minimum fare is $40. |

Snowbike
Ride a Winner! Our snowbike is one of Alaska's own "Fat Bikes", crafted in Palmer. Fat Bikes have been created to permit Alaskan bicycle enthusiasts to continue their riding in winter, and have oversized frames to fit very oversized tires. Anchorage racing legend, the indomitable Pete Basinger, rode our bike to victory in the 2006 Iditarod Trail Invitational, formerly the Iditasport Extreme. Run along the first 350 miles of the Iditarod dog sled course, prior to mushers traversing it, this is called by many the single toughest race on the planet. Now you can experience it too - on the far less extreme, groomed winter Denali Highway. Rental from cabins, for trails and hwy: $50 day use Multi-day rental: $40 per day Snowbike transport with Snowcoach: add $25 fee to Snowcoach price |
