Breakfast

We invite cabin and tent guests to join us every morning from 8:00 to 8:30 for our completely homemade breakfast, served in our beautiful Great Room.

At our family-run operation our breakfast consists of a plentiful variety of sweet and savory homemade muffins, breads, croissants and coffeecakes, highest-quality Irish steel-cut oatmeal and our homemade granola, fruit compote with wild Alaskan berries, a tasty and hot egg casserole dish, homemade jam from wild berries, fresh-brewed coffee, tea and orange juice.

Most mornings during breakfast we are able to offer our slideshow on the big screen of our photos from the Paxson and Denali Highway region, complete with commentary by naturalist Dr. Audie (when he’s not on the Denali Highway morning van tour, which leaves at 8:30). During breakfast we love to discuss with our guests what their plans are for the day, and guests love to share travel stories and tips with other guests.

Homemade goodies you may find at the breakfast table:

  • Pumpkin bread
  • Cranberry bran muffins
  • Ginger pear coffeecake
  • Egg casserole with bacon, cheese, and peppers
  • Corn and bacon muffins
  • Apricot orange coffeecake
  • Morning glory muffins
  • Banana bread
  • Cranberry pecan bread
  • Gluten-free muffins also available.

What Guests Are Saying

"Audie and Jenny have done a wonderful job of creating a comfortable, enjoyable retreat far away from towns and the conveniences that come with them. When you stay here leave your preconceived notions behind and get into the spirit of the place. It’s entirely off the grid. We enjoyed experiencing what it's like to be self-reliant in this beautiful but harsh environment."
